Review: Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter

I am on the constant hunt for a good concealer.
I think this year is the year i've gone a little mad for them.
Who doesn't want to hide their imperfections right? And i'm always one to aim for that flawless look.

This product reminded me very much of the YSL touche eclat with its brush applicator.
The price of this from memory i believe was $14.95.
The shade selection is extremely limited, i think there was 3 shades and it was either too light or way too dark. It confuses me as to why there is no medium shade available but i suppose it could have just been the store i was at.
I decided to pick up the Ivory 010 shade since it is a 2-in-1 highlighter which i could also use to brighten up the darker areas.

The packaging is a very thin squeeze tube with a brush attached at the end.
At first i thought it was ok but since using this a few more times it is very hard to squeeze product out. The size is 7ml and when i squeeze i feel a bunch of air inside. Against the light i can see the tiny smidge of product inside the 80% empty tube and find it very fustrating. I now have way too much product on the brush and all over the lid because i squeezed too much out after a long time of nothing coming out.

The concealer is definitely too light on me but i have tried to use it under my eyes and around my nose. I hate this product! It is a thick cream consistancy and spreads ok but it is thick and emphasises the bumps under my eye and also leaves a dry cakey effect. This would be horrid on wrinkles and fine lines.
The coverage is also very average and medium, i get a less cakey and more coverage effect with a cream stick concealer. There is no highlighting effect at all. This product is a pastey matte finish and i regret purchasing it.

For the price vs size, the consistancy, the packaging, everything about it is awful.
I would not purchase this again or recommend it to anyone. Maybe it would work better on oily skin that needs something dry and pastey but this is definitely not for me.

Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation FOND de TEINT GEL Gel Foundation and Healthy Mix Foundation Comparison

Healthy Mix Serum is a gel foundation with 1/3 coverage '16 hrs radiance-boosting even, revived complexion'.
The Healthy Mix is their award winning foundation with 2/3 coverage 'perfectly glowing complexion and toned skin'.

During the 1/2 price bourjois sale a few weeks ago i decided to try out their foundations which i've tested in the past and knew they had very good yellow-toned shades. However for $32 i couldn't justify trying a new foundation with all the ones i still havent used in my make up stash and already thought the Shiseido one would be my perfect foundation.
So with such a good sale i picked up the healthy mix serum gel foundation and the regular healthy mix foundation.
The serum foundation is a gel foundation and i absolutely love it! It has a fruity smell like some skincare serums do and spreads out like water. It is very sheer and not creamy at all. It sinks right into the skin and disappears.
Because it is gel based i find it doesnt cling onto dry patches or creased areas such as the edge of the nose which foundation tends to fade and clump up at.
It also has a slight glowing illuminating effect that's very subtle, it looks like a healthy sheen not a shimmer.
The coverage on this is light so i would use this when i've concealed all imperfections on my face then just do a thin layer of this foundation on top to even all the colours and it looks amazingly natural and clean.
However i do tend to like some coverage on my freckles so that is why i also got the regular healthy mix foundation which is slightly higher coverage.
I would say to me this goes on exactly the same. Also a very watery feel and sinks right in. Same smell. It is more of a matte finish than the healthy mix serum and doesn't have a sheen. I don't feel the coverage is anymore greater and they are very alike, almost the same to me.

I have gone back since and bought 2 more of the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation because i just love it that much and need to get backups! Overall i find the 2 foundatiosn the same except the gel foundation provides a natural sheen and also is great for dry skin that tends to cake and great for areas that look worse with heavy foundation on.

Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation 9/10 - wish it had stronger coverage
Healthy Mix Foundation - 8/10- Nothing wrong with this one, just wished for stronger coverage and liked the gel based foundation more.

I'm around NC25 and got this in 53 Beige Clair Light Beige which is so perfect for my skintone it's unbelievable.
I have previously used foundations that were much too light and still have a bad habit of picking up the lightest shades available. I am trying to pick more darker and warmer tones and once you start wearing the perfect shade of foundation, it is just so much better not worrying about adjusting the colour on your neck to match or adding a bit more bronzer than necessary.

I have recommended this foundation to my sister who has oily skin but flaky dry patches on her cheek. This foundation has stopped her dry patches and her skin surface looks so much smoother than before. I think everyone should give this foundation a go! It is amazing!

Review: Models Prefer Liquid Concealer

My past few trips to Priceline i've noticed a new Models Prefer section being set up.
It is a giant black professional looking display with a whole range of products particularly quality brushes.

Today while i made a quick stop i picked up 2 things which was only a few dollars and didn't feel right if i didn't spend a bit more.
None of their sales interested me so i checked out the Models Prefer range and tested the concealer which looked interesting.

There was 3 shades light, light-medium and medium available. I would have thought i was a light-medium instantly but it came quite pale on my hand and medium seemed very dark. I tested the colours on my face and medium blended right in so i went with that one.

$11.99 for 15ml is quite a good deal. Foundations usually come in 30ml and other concealers i own are usually 7.5ml or lesser.
The consistancy is exactly like a liquid foundation. It almost spreads out and turns a little darker on the skin than in the tube. I feel the converage is very sheer and not strong like a cream concealer stick at all.
It does blend smoothly and i think would work great for under my eyes which has bumps or for wrinkles and fine lines which thank god i dont have yet :)

Overall it's a average product and i would rate it 6/10. I would not rely on this to conceal freckles and such. But i think it would work great on redness, and bumpy surfaces like pimples which thick concealers sometimes emphasis rather than hide. I also think this is good for touch ups and was smooth when i place this ontop of the make up i had on.
Good size to throw in the bag and could definitely be used as a foundation. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a tiny nozzle which i like and it's impossible to get out too much product.
