Dove Pure Antiperspirant Deodorant Review

Product Talk by Nuffnang

I got some Dove freebies in the mail a few days ago which included the Dove Pure anti-perspirant deodorant spray and roll on :) How exciting! I love trying new things, especially when they are free hehe :P

When i need to use deodorant for super hot and sweaty days, i use one from Nature's Gate and one from Thursday Plantation which is organic.
So i'm very conscious about using a deodorant that is clean feeling and doesn't contain a million nasty things.

One thing i love about Dove is their moisturizing cream bar. My mum has stocked the house with these soaps since i was young so when i first used a 'normal' bar of soap, i realised how plasticy and filming it was. I could still feel a plasticy layer on my skin even when i washed it off! I decided to never sway away from Dove when it comes to soap ever again.
So when the first thing i noticed on the deodorant was the 1/4 moistursing cream logo i was super happy.
The deodorant also contains NO Fragrance, Parabens, Colourants or Alcohol! L is allergic to alcohol so he could definitely use these! :D This is probably safe to use on smelly kids too? :P

Both have no scent at all! I am shocked. Whenever i think of deodorant i have memories of being back in high school, in the sports change rooms with 20 other girls, all spraying and rolling on their deodorants and that musky powdery smell overwhelmed me.
They're also hypoallergenic and is suppose to last 48 hours. Who doesn't take a shower in 48 hours?! I guess if you were ever stuck in a situation where being smelly would be totally embarrassing, then you'll be glad your deodorant lasted 2 days lol

I'm not a fussy person but i'm picky when it comes to deodorant. A lot tend to leave white clumps if you spray too close and some smell so strong. When i tested the spray i was surprised at how light it felt and of course the lack of smell. I even showed my brother who couldn't stop spraying it to try and detect a smell. There is a subtle scent though which my sister says smells like tissues xD The roll on is super creamy and light like a water gel. It feels like they disappear on the skin and you wouldn't even know it was on. It's nice to know i've got that extra protection even when it feels like nothing is there.

So when i finally get my lazy ass to start working out, i will stock up on these for sure! I think these would be perfect to bring to the gym because you can spray heaps of this on and no one will complain about the smell!
I love when brands come out with products that are good for you, it just shows how health and wellbeing is being considered now in our consumerist world :) I love how Dove has so many sensitive skin and unscented products now. They've been around so long, i tend to forget about the brand when there is so much new and flashy brands coming out and i always walk pass their section. But in the end, it's the products you grew up with and are still around today that listen to what it's customers want. I can't wait to see what else they will have in the future :D

Thursday Night Haul :) Revlon @ David Jones; Oroton 50% off; Colette 50% off; etc etc

I thought i was going to keep at it but i have failed posting consistently! But never mind about that :)
The weather is awful in Sydney today and the only thing i want to do tonight is to take a hot shower and snuggle up into bed with some treats.
So since i won't be out shopping as i usually do, i shall post about my recently spendings hehe

A really good deal at the moment is Revlon at David Jones :)
They have 30% off foundations, mascaras, eyeliners from what i recall. And when you spend up to $39.95 you get a bonus gift pack! The gift pack is awesome too. The shades in it are very everyday shades that everyone can use :)

I definitely did not need anything but whenever i see gwp i get excited. And the sales girl was trying hard to push the sale yet knew to keep her space so i decided why not. It didn't cost that much until i spotted one of those DJ deluxe sampler bags and thought it was a new one. The girl said there was a better one and she went away for a bit to get it. And when i saw it, i realised it was the one i already had but she really went out of her way to get it so i just bought it anyways which i regretted once i got home because i really don't have space for more products!

Anyways! I went home and read lots of bad reviews for the foundation which made me sad :( I've used it twice since and it's not too bad. It spreads nicely on my skin and seems to stay ok with powder on top. The only thing to i worry about is that it is very shiny! You definitely should powder over this one.
Coverage is just medium which i don't mind since i've tried horrible foundations with the 'light converage' meaning it won't cover sh*t at all so why put it on your face lol
I'm super curious to try the new mascara and the lipstick. And the lip liner is a good nude shade!

Moving on...

My new oroton key/coin purse! I've been looking for a key pouch to keep in my handbag as i'm worried it will scratch up my Prada wallet. Also for when i finally get a fancy handbag, i would die if my keys scratched it up. So with Oroton having a 50% off sale, i got this for $45 with the RRP$95 :) I love how soft and squishy the leather is. I'm not a super fan on the style but i do love the raspberry colour!
Currently i'm using it more for lip products than keys xD

Talking about fancy handbags... My current bag broke and i've resorted to using an older bag which works but i've been browsing online constantly for a new bag.
This is the bag i'm lusting over right now.

Chanel bag that will never be mine lol

From what i recall it was $4270! I just cannot bring myself to pay that much for a bag. I'm at the age where i should get a nicer bag. I'm use to using just that ONE bag now. But even if i used this for 10 years straight, do i really want to carry something that expensive around? I love the slouchy style because i want to be able to throw it around and get use out of it. But for that price? I will think hard before i make any rash decisions lol

I've added 2 new 'dainty' necklaces to my collection recently and i super love them.
Both are from Fossil. The first one i've been eyeing for weeks and i have now confirmed rose gold looks pretty good on me :)

Apologies for the bad shot. I took this while waiting in traffic and as the necklace glistened in the sunlight i couldn't help but admire how beautiful it was. I tried to take a photo but it failed because i have fat fingers lol

Next up is a double pendant necklace :) L prefers this one more and doesn't really like the rose gold one. I love the small heart on this and didn't realise it was double pendant until we untangled them and realise it was connected! However what i love about this is the chains can connect and disconnect from each other! This lets me just wear the tiny heart by itself or together. It looks lovely on :)

They both have 'STEEL' labelled on the clasps. So i wonder if it's just a steel chain or does that include the pendant also? I hope it's the whole necklace as i love the designs so much and it cost a lot more than fashion jewellery so i want to be able to keep it forever.

My new black/gold bangles by Olivia Welles. I purchased once from the brand and i loved the quality so i splurge a little the second time and got a few necklaces as well.

I love all the designs. They are suppose to be gold plated so i really hope they are because i wore the necklace in the top left corner and a girl asked if i got it from Colette which made me sad.

A few days later Colette had their 50% off jewellery sale and i found the same necklace design in there but in a gunmetal colour! It was down to $10 and i decided i needed to buy it too to feel like i wasn't totally ripped off.

I got a few other goodies too :)

I also got some stuff from Belle Noel! I've been wanted one of their glam rock necklaces for the longest time. I didn't get the one i've been wanting but they did have another one which was quite lovely too.

This is an ankle bracelet but i'm just going to wear it on my wrist anyways :)

I super LOVEEEE this necklace. I wasn't too sure at first but i've worn it a few times and it does look very glam :)

Necklace and earrings which i'm not too keen on. They don't look as shiny and glassy as they did in online stock photos and they're so oversized. Not sure if i'll ever wear them but they weren't worth the return shipping cost and i could probably gift them away if i never end up wearing them hehe

What else have i bought lately...

lol L got this for me. Everytime we go into lush he always shows me this as a joke. And i totally don't even need it. But i started seeing lots of raves about this as an amazing firming cream online and i really wanted to try it on my body. So i made him get it for me. I have not tried it yet because i'm lazy but i will get around to it eventually hehe

I've always wanted to be effortlessly rocker chic styled but it actually does take a lot of effort hunting down comfy leather(ette) pants.
So i opted for leggings instead! I found 2 pairs from Myer by T by Bettina Liano. I don't have a picture of the plain leatherette ones but i do of this snake like skin one :) It just looks like a shiny black from far away which is what i like. I've worn it so many times already and have realised this sheds tiny flakes of black stuff everywhere! I still love it though :)
I was having a discussion with my sister the other day about how jeans aren't even considered to be comfortable anymore. And it is so true with the super tight skinny jeans that's on trend theses days. And the button up part is always way too tight when every other part fits good! I've purchase so many jeans which don't fit right or are way too tight this past year. I shall only purchase leggings from now on! They pretty much look like pants these days anyways right? lol
I feel like this is something a fat person would say lol

Next is some random make up ordered online a while back! I haven't touched any of this stuff to date! I really need to stop buying :(

I needed a nail strengthener and was in Priceline around a week or 2 ago and saw Sally Hansen had an awesome GWP! Spent $20 or more to get this super gift!
I got the Maximum Shield Treatment and i needed some nail polish remover anyways so with those two i qualified for the gift :) Look at the amount of goodies you get! Simply amazing. The hoarder in me was going to go pick this up again 2 days later but they were all gone :(

Last but not least is my giant order of baked good candles!

These take up heaps of space so i hope i get to use them soon! They smell so yummy.

Oops nope, i found more photos of make up :)
Lastly is my Adorebeauty.com.au Order hehe

I became slightly obsessed with the Clarins Brush on Perfector, so when i saw the same sold out kit on the website for even cheaper than in stores i had to have it!

To qualify for free shipping i also got a Lancome holiday set. It came in a super pretty gold glitter clutch.

Inside contained 2 Rogue in Love lipsticks in 353B 272N and 132M

I love the super luxe packaging :)

Ok i think that wraps it up for now. Until next time when more spending is done hehe :)

Make-Out 2013?

Yesterday i came across some make up de-cluttering videos from this Youtube User  I tend to watch these dehoarding type of shows when i feel overwhelmed with how crowded my room is. Granted that my room is a tiny shoe box, surely i can find a way to keep things off the floor?

And when it comes down to it, my room is just literally filled with too much make up and too much products.
I hate looking at my vanity and it's covered completely with stuff. A good day is when there's a small empty surface for me to put a cup of tea.

Make-Out 2013 was started by the youtube user to stop buying more unnecessary make up. Which has been floating in my mind constantly since last year. I would not say i have WAY too much. But i do have too much. The problem is when you can't keep all your make up in one place and it ends up scattering into a few sections.
I've got my top vanity drawer filled with 2 layers on make up, and besides my other 2 clear cube style thingies being filled with make up. I don't want more than that. But i do have an extra 2 boxes of make up right now so i want to use those up or cut those down. If they don't have a spot where they should be, i shouldn't have it. My skincare is another issue. If i like something i tend to buy lots of back ups. And i never even get around to using up the first one before i discover something else i like more. So this is it. I will ban myself from buying certain types of products.

Body lotions (I have enough to last 5 years even if i do use them everyday)

Exfoliators (they take a long time to go through)

Pencil type eyeliners

Lipliners (because i don't use them at all)

Lipgloss (because i don't use them at all yet have like 50 of them)

Blush (I think i will allow myself to buy ONE it's an amazing peach or baby doll pink from a high end brand)

Lipsticks in any shade other than nudes (i have every shade in the lip rainbow and i don't even touch them!)

Mascaras (i went off them for a while as they were too messy to take off by lazy me but i have started again since i have 30 new ones sitting around)

Firming eye cream (I have 20 tube back ups of my MD Visage ones so i will only allow myself to buy Moisturizing eye creams since i have felt the need for them lately and only own one Lancome one)

Nail polish (I hate nail polish. Its messy. It kills my nails. I have when they chip and i'm too tired to re-do them. Yet i have enough to seem like a nail polish hoarder too. This makes me really sad)

Toners (It doesn't seem like i have a lot but i do. In all kinds of brands possible hiding here and there so i forget i have them)

Perfumes (Nope don't need them. I have all the ones i've ever loved and L has bought me a lot of perfume sets which sit inside my wardrobe unopened! I may let myself repurchase my Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom one which i'm more than halfway through but i did have a Cherry Blossom one for L'occitane not long ago so only if i find them drastically different)

Face powders (they really do take forever to go through just one)

Bronzers (My God. There was one time i realised i hoard everything but bronzers and that kept my mind open to letting myself buy them... bad mistake)

Brow pencils (have a few and they last foreverrrr)

I think i can go on forever. So all i can purchase is: Nail polish remover, Body scrubs which i use everyday and buy as i go.
Shampoo and conditioner. I had a lot of bottles sitting around and i've done a really good job this year at using most of it up. I'm at the point where i think i might actually be OUT of shampoo. But i know i have 2 bottles somewhere. And that's it. I think i will try buy shampoo as i go now. Since my hair has been going through changes lately and nothing has kept it the way it use to be.
Oh another one is shower gel! Around 2 years ago i was out of shower gel. And i wasn't working then so i just needed a cheap one which would just do the job ok and it was so hard to find. I went without shower gel for a week. I did have scrubs and bath bubble gel to use but i ended up hoarding a few bottles and at this point still have 3 left. So no shower gels!

So thats:
Nail polish remover
Body Scrubs
Shampoo (decided on no conditioner as my hair was great when i didn't use them. I'll use hair masks instead)

That's a pretty short list :( I hope i find other things i can add to it but for now, i don't need so i won't buy any products.
I want to spend my money on other things like food and that super pretty necklace i've been eyeing. $90 for a necklace? No way. But $90 on make up feels like a no brainer? I can change :) I can feel the want to change more and more each day :) Does every make up collector/hoarder eventually get to this point where they feel enough is enough? Let me know if you guys have felt the same way.

Thursday Night Haul - Clinique Myer Gift With Purchase GWP February / March 2013

Hello hello :)

I received the Myer beauty catalogue in the mail the other day and saw there was a nice Clinique GWP happening. I haven't tried much from them besides their DDM moisturizing lotion and the soap cleanser. I also have one of their concealers and blush which i love. So while i've been wanting to get their concealer in the proper shade, i decided now was the right time. However my first visit was to my small local shopping centre and there wasn't much to look at.
Last night while i was in the city i managed to pick up 2 things and the gift with purchase :)
I was looking around forever and Clinique is just not the brand for me. It's the brand my mother uses. The skincare is very basic and so is the make up. They only have a million different foundations on offer but besides that i was confused at what i should get.
The line smoothing concealer i really wanted didn't come in a suitable shade. The ones light enough were too pink toned and the closest yellow one was way too dark and similar to the one i already had.
So i picked up their All About Eyes Concealer in 01 Light Neutral. This was the perfect shade for me. It swatched really thick which is what i liked but dried down very dry which was a little concerning.
After circling around almost 20 times i decided to try their cream liner as well. I wear eyeliner pretty much everyday. It was a practical choice :D
The cream liner looked very glossy and gel like. Not like MAC or any other gel liner i've tried. This has good reviews besides being easily used up so i'll see how i like it :)

And the exciting part, the GWP!

Included is:
Youth Surge Day SPF 15 Age Decelerating Moisturizer 15ml
Youth Surge Night Age Decelerating Night Moisturizer 15ml
7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula 30ml
Take the Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & lips 50ml
NEW Quickliner For Eyes Intense in Black 1.1g
Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Mega Melon 1.2g
High Impact Mascara in Black 3.5ml
Floral Bag

Purchased:
All About Eyes Concealer 01 Light Neutral $36
Brush on Cream Liner True Black $37

I was told when purchasing that the eyeliner in the gift doesn't wind down and only up. When i came across the Clinique's Facebook there was a lot of comments on this as well. I guess maybe that's why it was included? It is pretty much full size and glides on amazingly smooth. It does take a while to dry down and is definitely not Intense Black. It shows almost a dark blue and when i swatched the blue one and black together they were almost the same. I wore it to work today and really liked it. Usually i liquid line and then gel line over and have a hard time getting a full thick line but this worked super well. Line once and it was done :) I quite like it. If only it was more black.

Overall i think this is a great GWP. The Chubby Stick is a really great neutral red shade. All those lip colour pencils are very popular at the moment and i've just not been keen on trying them. But maybe after trying this one i will understand why everyone loves them :) I'm not usually a sucker for Clinique's GWP but this one included some good make up items which is what i'm after more. Most Myer's i've been to still have plenty in stock!

Some other stuff i've purchased recently as well:

Nude By Nature Ultimate Heroes Kit

Scored this for $15 at Priceline! It was down to $25 and they had $10 off Kits :) I'm so glad my friend told me about this!

Chanel Perfection Lumiere 20 Beige swatch

Got the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation in 20 Beige. I forgot which one all the youtubers were raving about and i only remembered the word Lumiere. And unfortunately for me, all Chanel Foundations were something Lumiere! After numerous swatching, i liked the Mat Lumiere most but at the last minute i asked the sales assistant which had most coverage and this was suppose to be Medium - buildable to full coverage.
I have tried this and besides making my complexion extremely glowy, the coverage is lacking. I like to glow but i like to cover my freckles also. And this doesn't do it. It isn't buildable either like she said. Even redness which i hardly have shows through. Not a fan and i'll be staying away from Chanel foundations if this is what their medium to full coverage foundations are like! It was $82 from memory and i wish i spent the money better elsewhere :( It feels thick also. I rate this 4/10.

Speaking of foundations, here is my mini Ozsale haul of Bourjois Foundations.

I actually got more than pictured but lets try to not look like a make up hoarder. I got my favourite Healthy Mix ones all in shade 52. I decided i liked this version more than the gel serum one because that one was way too shiny on my skin during summer. I make me look like i was greasy. And i have dry skin! With the foundations at $10 a piece, i picked up the heavier coverage Flower Perfection Foundation also. They're so pricey in shops that i've been reluctant to try it. But now i have and i must say i love it :) It is a tiny bit thicker but the coverage is aweeeesome. I feel like i can skip concealer with this on. I just love Bourjois foundations so much now :)

Calvin Klein Lipgloss in 32207 Georgia and 32206 Euphoria

Picked these up ages ago but i had swatch photos in my phone :) Got these from Chemist Warehouse. They seem to have stopped stocking CK cosmetics. Not that they stocked them properly.
They were always in tiny baskets with mixed stuff thrown together. I don't like lip gloss but when i saw these colours i had to have themmm. Their lipsticks are amazingly nice as well and also their eyeshadows! I've managed to collect a few eyeshadows which are amazing quality and a few blush brushes. The eyeshadows were on clearance for $2! OMG?? And i bought every single one that wasn't broken or touched. There were a few nude cream shades that even when i swatch now, i could just die staring at them. Chemist Warehouse no longer has them anymore so it must have been a temporary thing which didn't last very long.
Myer has had a new Calvin Klein cosmetics section for a while now. Maybe i will stop by next time but the packaging isn't tempting at all. Looks like some kind of white spaceship toy. Has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

MOR Marshmallow Set :)

I love MOR because they have the prettiest packaging i've ever seen. And their marshmallow scent makes me dream off into candyland.
I finally got my hands on their pricey perfume! For the same price of the perfume alone, i got a bonus hand cream and soap bar. I'm only a little sad i didn't get the box for the perfume because it is super pretty! I have a habit of collecting their stuff and never using it. It displays nicely on my vanity table hehe

Revlon Xmas Set 2012

I got this gigantic Revlon gift set around 2-3 weeks ago. It was normally $79 i think on sale at Myer for $39! It was part of their Boxing day clearance sales and they had so much of these available! The amount of products it comes with is insane! Not to mention it includes one of my favourite pencil liners normally $20+.
I picked up 2 sets and gifted some of the products to a friend :) Myer is completely sold out now but David Jones does still have a few for $55 on sale. I love sales :)

Mecca Cosmetica Nars Haul :)

Eyeshadow Duo in Grand Palais (Limited edition)

Can't remember when i picked these 2 up but it wasn't too long ago. I got the nail polish in the bright yellow and the eyeshadow duo.The polish goes on super pigmented and the staying power is wonderful. I've had this on my toes for 2 weeks and took a long time before it started to chip. It's so hard to find a bright sunny good quality yellow polish! I love this :)

O.P.I Haul!

These i believe are a mix from the Spiderman and Skyfall Collection :)
I got these a longggg time ago but i haven't got around to using them. The colours are amazing though. Also Myer has started to stock O.P.I and i've been watching the stands slowly fill up with super pretty colours :)
I can get O.P.I from my local Myer now which is nice hehe

Live and Let Die, On Her Majestys Secret Service, Just Spotted the Lizard, Number One Nemesis, The World Is Not Enough

So pretty :)

Illamasqua Neutral Palette

I can never resist a neutral palette. That metallic shade makes me melt.

 Illamasqua Neutral Palette Swatches

Essie Haul!
Haute As Hello, French Affair, Nice is Nice, Topless & Barefoot, Van D' Go, Neo Whimsical, Mod Squad, Mucho Dinero, ??? (sorry i forgot what this was)

I actually have most of these shades in mini versions and when i saw a Essie sale pop up on buyinvite.com.au, i decided to pick up the shades i loved the most. Everything came packed in lots of bubble wrap and very fast too. I love Haute and Hello and Topless & Barefoot. Just can't get enough of these nude pastel shades! Essie is definitely my favourite polish brand :)

And these are the shades my sister picked up:
Nice is Nice, Topless & Barefoot, Waltz, Da Bush and Absolutely Shore

Ok i think i've included most of the things i've been meaning to post about and i can peacefully go on without thinking about how much i need to blog about!
I did pick up the Chi Chi Nude palette today but i will leave that for another post! Have a lovely night :)

Thursday Night Haul - David Jones and Clarins

Hi :)
Somehow i've managed to not blog in almost a month! I guess i've somehow kept myself too busy in the real world, even though all i do is work and sleep hehe

Ok! As always, i went Thursday night shopping with L and this time i didn't shop too long but i did manage to pick up some fun things from David Jones :)
David Jones once again had their Deluxe Beauty Sampler Bag on offer. Purchase any beauty item and you can purchase the bag for $19.95.
I've bought the previous 2 they had and it was definitely worth it. There's always a mix of nice brand items and some full size items as well! They come out twice a year i think. Maybe more but i've somehow picked up the habit of collecting them and i can't wait for the next ones they have!

So firstly, i shall start with what i bought.
I was wandering around the beauty counters trying to see what i could buy and found this.

The Clarins Instant Beauty Kit.

It comes with 2 full sized items. The Brush-On Perfecter and the Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. Both usually around $50 each. I have the Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch and this stuff is the perfect primer base for pores and bumpy areas. It feels like a super matte paste and smooths on so well.

I have not tried the Brush-On Perfecter though but it does remind me of the YSL Touche Eclat. So i checked the shade, 02, checked the tester and it turns out to be the perfect one for me :) Not only that, it seems to have more coverage and more shine than the YSL. I fell in love with it on the spot.
The 2 other products are mini sizes of the Complexion Perfector which is an illuminator and the Natural Lip Perfector. This lipgloss will make you have the juiciest looking lips ever! I'm not a fan of lipgloss but i loveeee this stuff. It's amazing and not sticky! It comes in the peachy shade which i don't so it was the perfect kit for me.
This was $50 with the value of $107. I'm surprised at how cheap this is. Maybe it's because drugstore brands these days are just getting more and more pricey. I can find a L'oreal or Maybelline product similar to the YSL Touche eclat for $30 which is just not worth it. Considering how higher end brands are cutting their prices in Australia now to make it more fair on consumers.
I will try the Brush-On Perfector and probably do a comparison review on it soon :)

Now the exciting part! The David Jones Deluxe Beauty Sampler Bag! There were 2 different bags to choose from and i chose the one which i thought contained items i would use most.

Here are photos to show what's inside :)

Inside Includes:
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13g
Kosmea Skin Clinic Rescue Balm 5g - super cute
A'kin  Intensive Moisture Anti-Oxidant Complex
Batiste Dry Shampoo 50ml - In blush scent
Live Clean Argan Oil Treatment 30ml
Crabtree & Evelyn Himalayan Blue Hand Therapy 25g  - They do amazing hand creams!
David Jones Beauty Liquid Foundation SPF15 in Tan 35ml or Silk Finish pressed Powder in Translucent 12g - I got the Tan foundation and it's around MAC NC35. Way too dark for me. I don't recall any of the bags having the Translucent Pressed Powder though.
Also there were bonuses!
Bonus David Jones Facial Cleanser and Day Cream.
And mini O.P.I polish :)

This all comes in a cute David Jones Tote. The bag is quite long although it's very slim sized like a suitcase.
I'm always one to collect purse size products so i'm super excited over these. The O.P.I polishes vary and you're free to choose the bag you like. I have a feeling i might be back in David Jones the next few days to get the other bag. And most likely some other goodies :)

I've done so much other shopping in between, i really need to find time and energy to blog about them! They will come soon. Hopefully hehe :)
